(One of the posts I wrote on my Swell 24.7 blog in my previous life as a gift store owner in the busy tourist town of Provincetown on Cape Cod; posts that are grouped here under the category What Else Is Swell?, and are generally about life in Provincetown, life as a retailer, our fabulous dog Jack who sat outside the store for well over a decade, and other random things that grabbed me at the time.)
Memorial Day Weekend in Provincetown is always a long and tiring kick off to the season, but this year a couple of kids really brightened it up for me and put a big smile on everyone's face. There was 9 year old Emma who brought in the Nancy Drew journal she had purchased a few weeks ago to show me the amazing story she had written in it.
And then there was this little boy dancing on Commercial Street; don't know his name, or his age, or whether the women with him are his Moms. But those little orange underpants and his complete ignorance of the fact that everyone was watching him dance just had us all Aaawing. Two thumbs up for self-expression and just having a darned good time.
